Xreal showcased an upgraded edition of its affordable Xreal One AR glasses at CES 2026, following the initial release toward the close of 2024. Named the 1S model – using a digit instead of the spelled-out version – this iteration features slight enhancements in performance and a $50 reduction in cost.

The One series functions as a portable spatial viewing device that links via USB-C to various gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, computers, and gaming systems. It incorporates compact screens within the frames that, positioned near the user's eyes, create the illusion of a large display. Typically, this equates to about 171 inches diagonally, though users with strong focus can extend the apparent size up to roughly 500 inches.

The improvements primarily refine the core attributes of the predecessor. The resolution has advanced from 1080p to 1200p in full HD, the viewing angle widened from 50 degrees to 52 degrees, and light output increased from 600 nits to 700 nits. Additionally, the screen proportions shifted from 16:9 to 16:10. Xreal highlights the price cut most prominently, bringing the cost down from $499 to $449.

While the crowded CES exhibit area isn't ideal for in-depth testing, the 1S demonstrated solid potential during a brief session. Watching scenes from Avatar gave the sensation of being in a modest theater setting. The device's familiar advantages, including lack of visual fatigue and strong engagement, remained prominent.

Xreal also introduced the Neo accessory, which serves as both a supplementary power source and a DisplayPort adapter for the glasses. It houses a 10,000mAh battery to extend usage time and provides improved connectivity options, particularly for Nintendo Switch devices. Previously, connecting a Switch or its successor required a separate docking station, but the Neo allows direct integration, freeing up space in portable setups. Priced at $99, the Neo joins the 1S in immediate availability for purchase.
