Surprisingly, fans can soon enjoy the classic Banjo-Kazooie using only a D-pad on a portable console set for 2026 release. HyperMegaTech! has teamed up with Rare Ltd., the iconic British studio behind the Banjo-Kazooie series and the modern hit Sea of Thieves, to unveil the Super Pocket Rare Edition.

This compact vertical device packs in 14 timeless titles from Rare, such as a pair of Battletoads games, Conker's Pocket Tales, and others. Although the majority of these originated on 8-bit or 16-bit systems, Banjo-Kazooie stands out as the star attraction from its Nintendo 64 debut. HyperMegaTech! confirms the title has received tailored adjustments for smooth play on the Super Pocket's controls.

Thanks to the common parent company Blaze Entertainment linking HyperMegaTech! and Evercade, the Rare Edition supports Evercade cartridges for further expansion. After exploring the built-in 14 games, users can add packs from publishers like Taito, NeoGeo, and Atari. The handheld is priced at $69.99 and slated for June 2026, with preorders now active.
