Nearly six years following the reveal of intentions to construct Atari-branded hotels in eight American cities, such as Las Vegas, progress appears limited to a single location in Phoenix, Arizona. A representative named Sara Collins explained to the Las Vegas Sun that the Las Vegas arrangement failed to materialize, and the Atari Hotels team is concentrating efforts on the Arizona property in the interim.

The Arizona venue was designated as the initial launch point, with subsequent properties slated for Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle. However, the Nevada project is no longer in consideration, and no developments have emerged for the remaining sites. The Atari Hotels site's FAQ indicates that further locations, such as Denver, remain under evaluation through distinct development and licensing deals. The initiative debuted in 2020, right before the COVID-19 outbreak, leading to significant setbacks. Groundbreaking for the Phoenix facility, originally anticipated in 2020, is now slated to commence toward the end of this year, pushing the debut to 2028.

Potential visitors might want to temper expectations. A press statement from December revealed ongoing efforts to secure between $35 million and $40 million to support the interactive gaming hub in Phoenix.
