Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to retain the starting price of $599 for its most affordable iPhones. In his recent Power On newsletter, Gurman noted that the iPhone 17e is slated for an upcoming launch and will match the cost of the previous model.

With the iPhone 16e's debut roughly a year in the past, a follow-up to Apple's economical handset is anticipated. Gurman indicates that the refreshed low-cost device includes enhancements such as MagSafe wireless charging and the A19 processor found in the standard iPhone 17. Additionally, it incorporates Apple's newest proprietary modem and connectivity components.

Our assessment of the iPhone 16e highlighted shortcomings in its photography features, especially in light of the iPhone 17's introduction shortly afterward. At the unchanged $599 tag, the iPhone 17e introduces several meaningful advancements and positions itself against the Google Pixel 10a. Gurman anticipates Apple aiming this model at developing markets and business users. Despite heightened rivalry abroad, iPhone demand is rebounding in China, and the company projects robust performance for its devices throughout Asia, particularly in China and India.
