Takway, a company positioning itself as the leading innovator in AI robotics akin to Nintendo's influence, introduced a portable digital companion reminiscent of Tamagotchi during CES 2026. This device, named Sweekar, functions as an AI-based friend housed in a compact, egg-like gadget featuring small ears and a display serving as its expressive face. Users must nurture it through feeding and interactive play to maintain its well-being and joy, with its emotional states and visual reactions mirroring the level of attention provided. Unlike traditional versions, Sweekar learns from the user's voice patterns and shared experiences, and upon maturing, it independently occupies itself with solo digital explorations—similar to those of a Finch bird—and returns with stories from its journeys.

Available initially in pink, yellow, and blue variants, Sweekar allows for customization through interchangeable casings and accessory clothing options for added fun. The companion progresses through four developmental phases, requiring progressively less direct involvement from the owner as it advances.

It begins in a sealed egg form during a two-day hatching phase, emerging afterward to display its facial features. Owners then engage in regular maintenance and interaction routines to guide it from infancy to adolescence. Reaching adulthood enables full self-sufficiency, eliminating the possibility of demise due to inattention starting at Level 51—though physical durability remains subject to hardware limitations and the need for periodic recharging. Pricing details are pending, but estimates place it between $100 and $150 upon release, with Takway planning an imminent Kickstarter initiative.
