Awards ceremonies have become a staple across numerous sectors in recent years, offering opportunities to honor achievements and foster professional connections. The social media giant Snap is entering this space with its inaugural Snappy Awards Show, set to take place at its headquarters on March 31. Comedian and content creator Matt Friend has been selected to emcee the proceedings.

Snapchat has been expanding its features to help influencers grow their followings, including the recent introduction of personalized creator subscription options. This new awards event aligns with those initiatives by highlighting influential figures across diverse areas. Categories for the Snappys include Spotlight MVP, Best Storyteller, and Breakout Creator of the Year, along with honors for partnerships, cultural influence, and excellence in specific niches.

Snapchat is not pioneering this approach among social platforms. TikTok organized its first U.S. awards ceremony the previous year to celebrate its key users.
