In a related development, authorities in Singapore have taken a 26-year-old individual into custody over allegations of distributing content from the studio's upcoming production, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender.

This project belongs to the established Avatar: The Last Airbender series and was originally slated for cinema distribution. Following a pair of postponements, Paramount decided to shift it exclusively to its streaming platform, Paramount+, with a premiere planned for later in the year. Devoted followers of the series expressed frustration at the decision to bypass traditional theaters, compounded by the company's limited promotional efforts.

Numerous viewers have reportedly accessed the content prematurely due to actions attributed to the detained suspect. Officials stated that he obtained unauthorized remote entry to a server, retrieved the file, and uploaded segments to the internet. In response to the incident, Paramount updated the title to Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, potentially aiming to limit the visibility of leak-related online queries.

The individual faces charges related to unlawful entry into computer systems and could receive a sentence of up to seven years imprisonment, a penalty of as much as $50,000, or a combination of the two.

In a recent discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, the operator of the social media account @ImStillDissin, who shared the excerpts, displayed a casual attitude toward the matter. While it's possible this person is the same as the one now detained, no official confirmation exists. The account holder explained that since the release was confined to streaming, he viewed uploading snippets as a minor act of mischief. 'Noticing it was only for Paramount+, I thought I'd engage in some light trolling,' he remarked.

The shared footage quickly proliferated across platforms. Although users on 4Chan urged the full upload, @ImStillDissin declined to do so. By April 13, however, another party had released the complete version, which has since been widely disseminated online.

Paramount now anticipates challenges for the film's scheduled debut on October 9 via its streaming service.
