Fans of the cooperative alien-shooting experience from the 2021 release Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be pleased to learn that a follow-up is in development. This next chapter increases the team size to four participants and introduces fresh character types along with additional armaments.
The upcoming Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 seems to follow closely in the footsteps of its arcade-style forerunner. According to the game's reveal, Xenomorphs will prowl through passageways, launch surprise attacks from hidden spots, and attack in massive groups. This setup closely mirrors the core elements of the initial title.
Several enhancements are included beyond the improved visual quality. Teams can now consist of four members targeting the extraterrestrial threats, compared to the trio in the earlier version. Fresh challenges come from pathogens and synthetic fighters created by Weyland-Yutani. A customizable Specialist class offers greater flexibility in playstyles. Cold Iron Studios, the creators, also commit to more intricate team interactions and an expanded arsenal usable by various character classes.
Players will explore captivating new settings within the Aliens franchise as the 40th anniversary of James Cameron's 1986 film classic nears in July. This significant date likely influenced the recent unveiling of a teaser for the sequel to the original Alien: Isolation.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is slated for launch this summer and will support PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms via Steam and Epic Games Store.
