A new analysis from Android Headlines points to Samsung continuing its Galaxy Plus series, countering earlier speculation that the firm might eliminate the Plus variant to prioritize a thinner Edge model. Instead, the findings reveal that Samsung plans to retain the Plus option while abandoning the popular Edge lineup altogether.

An anonymous source has shared preliminary visuals of the anticipated S26+, which closely resembles Samsung's recent flagship devices. The rear camera module features a subtle redesign. These images depict a compact, elevated camera bump that sets it apart from the S25+ configuration.

Furthermore, the renders indicate the S26+ will lack the expansive horizontal camera bar once expected on the S26 Edge. With that device now said to be scrapped, the timeline for introducing such a feature remains unclear.

According to the source, the S26+ is projected to measure 7.35mm in thickness, matching the S25+ dimensions. It appears noticeably bulkier than the S25 Edge, ruling out any disguised version of that model. Reports from The Verge also point to Samsung scrapping the much-discussed S26 Pro variant. As a result, the expected 2026 lineup should include the base S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, following the current year's structure.

Official announcements from Samsung are not far off, as the brand usually unveils its latest Galaxy smartphones around January. Sources attribute the Edge model's discontinuation to underwhelming market performance. That said, the Netherlands-based Galaxy Club outlet claims Samsung remains committed to producing a slender phone variant in the near future.
