Amazon plans to expand its live sports offerings on Prime Video. Beginning in November, the platform will broadcast three non-conference contests featuring the Duke University men's basketball squad. These encounters with UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga stand out as the most significant opponents on the Blue Devils' schedule for the year.
The initial matchup is slated for Black Friday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, pitting Duke against UConn. The Huskies advanced to the Final Four in the previous March's Elite Eight by sinking a buzzer-beating three-pointer to defeat the Blue Devils. Later in December, Duke will compete with Michigan at Madison Square Garden in New York City, followed by a February 20 clash against Gonzaga in Detroit. According to a university statement, Prime Video will handle production for all three events, with precise start times to be announced subsequently.
The service currently features select broadcasts of MLB, NFL, and NBA action, along with live streams of WNBA and NWSL women's professional leagues. Duke's release notes that this marks Amazon's initial agreement with a collegiate program. As part of the Atlantic Coast Conference, which holds broadcasting rights with ESPN, the network usually televises the majority of the team's games each year. To facilitate the Prime Video appearances, Duke has committed to participating in specific ESPN-controlled tournaments during the 2027-28 and 2028-29 campaigns.
