Panic revealed on Thursday that the Playdate handheld will receive a third collection of handpicked, unexpected titles. Details remain sparse aside from confirmation of the season's development, though Greg Maletic, the company's Playdate lead, stated in a promotional clip that it arrives 'in time for the holidays' this year. After a three-year gap between the console's 2022 debut with the initial season and the second one's launch last year, this timeline appears relatively swift.

The firm has not disclosed the number of titles in the upcoming season or its price tag. The debut season featured 24 experiences delivered at a rate of two weekly over 12 weeks, whereas the follow-up included 12 such items along with the Blippo+ update and carried a $39 fee. Despite the reduced count, the second season maintained high standards and offered a more cohesive set than its predecessor. Expectations are building for the innovations in the third edition.

On a related note, Panic disclosed that the long-anticipated title Office Chair Curling is now on sale for the Playdate device and Steam platform, including support for online multiplayer across systems.
