Subscribers of Peacock will soon access an increased selection of live sports content enhanced by Dolby Vision and Atmos features beginning in 2024. Currently, the platform's sole live sports event offering Atmos audio is Sunday Night Football. During CES, Dolby Laboratories revealed that Peacock intends to extend these advanced technologies to additional live sports broadcasts throughout the year, including Sunday Night Football, NBA games, and MLB matches available on the service.

David Bohunek, Senior Vice President of Global Video Engineering at NBCUniversal, commented: 'Our partnership with Dolby ensures that whether our subscribers are streaming a thrilling playoff game, the latest Universal blockbuster, or a critically acclaimed Peacock Original, they're experiencing it exactly as creators intended — with breathtaking picture and immersive sound that brings every moment to life.'

Additionally, Peacock is set to introduce compatibility with Dolby Vision 2 and Dolby AC-4 later in 2024. Dolby Laboratories described Vision 2 as a significant advancement in superior visual technology during its unveiling at IFA 2025, tailored for modern televisions and employing artificial intelligence to optimize settings according to the viewed content and the surrounding environment. On the audio side, Dolby AC-4 represents an innovative sound standard that achieves top-tier quality while requiring substantially less bandwidth compared to alternatives.
