In early February, OpenAI enhanced its Codex AI coding platform by adding support for handling several AI agents simultaneously. During that update, the company also introduced a separate application for macOS users. Those anticipating a similar option for Windows can now access an official Codex app tailored for Microsoft's platform.

Similar to the macOS edition, this Windows app enables users to direct various coding agents toward a shared objective. It further offers automation features to simplify routine activities, such as testing for errors in code. For newcomers, the app features a specialized 'Skills' area that compiles directives, materials, and code snippets, allowing the system to link agents with particular utilities and processes. Additionally, OpenAI has integrated built-in sandboxing to provide a secure environment familiar to Windows-based programmers.

The Codex tool is accessible to subscribers of ChatGPT's Free, Go, Plus, and Pro tiers. When using the application, note that conversation records are stored in your OpenAI profile, permitting seamless transitions between macOS and Windows sessions without data loss.
