Noble Audio recently introduced the Sceptre, a small USB-C Bluetooth transmitter designed to improve audio performance wirelessly from smartphones, computers, and tablets. This accessory aims to deliver superior sound compared to the built-in capabilities of the connected gadgets.
The Sceptre relies on Qualcomm's QCC5181 Bluetooth chip and is equipped to handle LDAC, aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC audio formats. Users must pair it with headphones that also support these advanced codecs to fully benefit from the enhanced audio. The transmitter offers a connection distance of about 66 feet.
Pairing begins through the Noble app, after which the device can be easily switched among USB-C-enabled products. It allows USB-C pass-through charging, enabling simultaneous device powering and audio playback. Noble Audio states compatibility across iOS, Android, and Windows platforms, with confirmation that models from iPhone 15 onward work with it.
Previous evaluations of Noble Audio gear, such as the FoKus Apollo over-ear headphones and FoKus Rex5 in-ear monitors, have been favorable. The Sceptre is now on sale for $70.
