Developer Bloober Team has unveiled details about Layers of Fear 3 after a promotional countdown culminating on Valentine's Day, initiated at the start of 2026. In an official statement, the studio confirmed that this entry will encompass a video game as well as a accompanying novel and soundtrack compositions.

The announcement featured a cinematic live-action clip in which a performer recited passages from William Blake's poem 'The Sick Rose.' Following that, an artwork tumbled from its position on the wall, after which the performer inverted an hourglass containing crimson grains of sand. Accompanying the visuals was the phrase 'The door won't stay closed.' The teaser offered no glimpses of actual gameplay or specifics on when the title might launch.

Bloober outlined plans to expand the Layers of Fear series with supplementary materials outside the core game, such as a book authored by genre specialist, literary artist, and musician Marta Bijan. Additionally, the firm disclosed intentions to distribute audio tracks from Layers of Fear, The Medium, and Cronos in electronic versions alongside tangible formats including compact discs and vinyl pressings.

Given the studio's strong recent track record, the upcoming release is poised to generate significant interest among players. Bloober has lately delivered the remastered Silent Hill 2, the title Cronos: The New Dawn, and an upgraded take on Layers of Fear 2 for the Nintendo Switch 2 known as Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition. Debuting in 2016, the initial Layers of Fear earned acclaim as a standout in modern horror gaming for its intricate plot and hallucinatory atmosphere of dread. The follow-up relocated the action to an eerie seafaring vessel and received comparable praise.
