Known as Me Meme, this tool leverages Google Gemini to adapt standard meme formats by incorporating selections from the app's photo library. Currently in beta testing, the option is restricted to English-speaking users in the United States. For now, it's exclusive to Android devices, with Google noting potential discrepancies between the output and the source image. Access instructions follow for those who receive it promptly.
Launch the Photos application on your device. Navigate to the Create section at the bottom of the screen and locate the Me Meme selection. Should it remain absent despite qualifying as a US-based Android user, the deployment is ongoing, so patience is required. According to statements to TechCrunch, expansion to iOS platforms is slated for the forthcoming weeks.
Initial activation includes guided prompts on the display. Subsequent visits bypass these and dive directly into meme production.
Users may select from a collection of ready-made templates offered by Google, or import a custom meme or alternative picture to serve as the base.
Next, select an image from your collection to embed into the template. Opt for a self-portrait or shot featuring a prominent facial view, as recommended by Google.
Upon selecting Generate, review the creation; if it meets expectations, store it locally or distribute it via social networks. Alternatively, choose Regenerate for an alternative version.
The functionality was first detected by Android Authority in October 2025, allowing early experimentation ahead of the phased launch. A sample result from Me Meme is illustrated underneath.
