The company has unveiled the HushJet Mini Cool, marking its entry into the handheld fan market. This model incorporates Dyson's specialized HushJet air projection technology, which initially appeared in an air purifier praised for its unusually low noise levels.
Dyson claims the device generates targeted air currents reaching 25 meters per second, or about 55 miles per hour. A brushless motor drives it at speeds of up to 65,000 revolutions per minute. Despite its compact design, the fan seems capable of providing effective cooling. It measures just 7.5 ounces in weight.
The unit features five adjustable speed levels along with a temporary surge setting, perfect for coping with extreme summer temperatures. It recharges using a USB-C connection and comes bundled with a supportive base. Designed for stability, it can rest independently on a workspace surface. The internal battery delivers up to six hours of operation after each full charge.
At $100, the HushJet Mini Cool offers good value compared to other Dyson items, yet it stands out as costly in the category of portable fans. Three color options are available. The gray variant launches tomorrow, the red edition follows in May, and the blue one arrives in June.
