Dispatch emerged as a top release in 2025 and ranks among the strongest story-driven video games of recent times, rendering its absence from Xbox consoles particularly surprising. That gap is now closing with an upcoming release during the summer season.

The addition was revealed in the latest Xbox Partner Preview event, bringing Dispatch to Xbox Series X|S, PC via Xbox, and Xbox Cloud Gaming sometime in 2025. It launches as an Xbox Play Anywhere experience, allowing seamless progress between console and PC or Windows portable devices in either direction.

For those unfamiliar, the title from developer AdHoc Studio—established by former Telltale Games staff—presents a comedic take on superhero office life. Players control Robert Robertson, an unemployed hero persuaded into a standard office role coordinating missions for fellow superheroes.

Structured as an episodic adventure, Dispatch debuted incrementally on PlayStation 5 and PC throughout 2025, though the Xbox edition is expected to offer the complete package upon arrival. The experience alternates between choice-based storytelling reminiscent of Telltale's style and simulation elements focused on assigning hero tasks.

The script and visuals in Dispatch stand out for their polish, resembling an interactive high-caliber animated series about superheroes, with players facing tough choices that carry weight. A notable ensemble of voice actors, including Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad, alongside Laura Bailey and Jeffrey Wright, delivers compelling performances throughout. The game earned praise from the Engadget staff, securing a spot on their 2025 highlights roster.

Following its initial platforms, Dispatch expanded to Nintendo Switch, though that version drew criticism for removing certain elements. The Xbox release is anticipated to retain all original mature and revealing material intact. It carries a base price of $30, or $40 for the Deluxe variant that bundles four digital comic issues and an artbook. No exact launch date was specified during the presentation.
