The highly anticipated cyberpunk platformer Replaced has encountered a brief postponement. Originally scheduled for release on March 12, the pixel-art title now targets April 14. This one-month shift seems minor, especially since the project has been generating interest for half a decade.

According to developer Sad Cat Studios, the game is complete from a technical standpoint, but additional time is required for refinement. The studio emphasizes delivering a launch version that is refined, reliable, and aligned with the initial creative intent. Such attention to quality stands out amid recent examples of flawed game debuts.

This marks the most recent extension in the game's timeline, though earlier setbacks were justified. The team relocated operations from Belarus to Cyprus following Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Replaced features a striking 2.5D platforming experience in a bleak, alternate version of 1980s America. Players control an artificial intelligence confined against its will in a human form. The title promises dynamic, film-like sequences, blending exact close-combat maneuvers with effective distance-based weaponry.

It will launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC through platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store. The game joins Xbox Game Pass from day one.
