Despite ongoing user concerns from the AI subtitle controversy and a recent subscription fee adjustment, anime enthusiasts can now access Crunchyroll through a fresh integration. The streaming platform has been added as an official channel within the Apple TV app.

Users are able to sign up for subscriptions and enjoy their selected anime series entirely inside Apple's media player. This setup eliminates the necessity of installing the dedicated Crunchyroll application or using a separate authentication system, with account management handled seamlessly through Apple credentials. Reports from 9to5Mac highlight this as the most important channel expansion for the TV app in recent months.

Crunchyroll's entry-level plan now requires $10 monthly, reflecting a $2 uptick across all subscription levels implemented earlier this year. Such changes could challenge loyalty among subscribers unhappy with the service's evolving strategies.

During the prior year, not long after the executive leader voiced excitement over AI applications in subtitling, audiences spotted anomalies in content. Notably, the German captions for the programs Necronomico and The Cosmic Horror Show contained a phrase opening with 'ChatGPT said…'. Officials at Crunchyroll attributed the problem to an outside supplier and vowed to investigate and fix the issue promptly.
