CRKD has launched the Nitro Deck 2, an upgraded controller accessory designed to appeal to Nintendo Switch users despite the advancements in the new Joy-Con 2 controllers. Building on the popularity of its predecessor, which gained favor among original Switch owners since its 2023 release, the latest version offers broad compatibility with both the existing Switch models and the anticipated Switch 2.
Incorporating suggestions from users, CRKD has enhanced the Nitro Deck 2 with key improvements. It includes the proprietary CaptiStick Technology, which eliminates stick drift and remains unaffected by magnetic fields, setting it apart from typical Hall effect analogs. The design now positions the right thumbstick slightly offset and shapes the exterior for better comfort during extended play. Retaining the interchangeable stick caps, the device also introduces modular D-Pad options for greater personalization. On the rear, it integrates additional L2 and R2 triggers next to the programmable rear buttons originally featured in the first model.
For those without the Switch 2, the Nitro Deck 2 employs an adjustable retractable lock that secures it to the standard Switch or Switch OLED. It provides a wired connection option with minimal input lag via a supplied adapter, alongside Bluetooth pairing. The wireless functionality extends its use as a standalone controller for computers, smartphones, and connected televisions.
Available in white and smoke black finishes, the Nitro Deck 2 starts at a price of $99.99, marking a $30 rise from the initial Nitro Deck's launch cost. Optional accessories include a protective case priced at $39.99 and sets of replacement D-Pads and stick tops for $19.99 each. Pre-orders are open through CRKD's online store, with deliveries slated to begin in spring 2026.
