Amazon has brought on actress Teresa Palmer, recognized for her roles in films such as The Fall Guy, Warm Bodies, and Hacksaw Ridge, to portray a key figure from Norse mythology in its upcoming live-action God of War series. According to an initial report from Deadline, Palmer is set to embody Sif, the spouse of Thor who rises to lead the Aesir in the adaptation. Although this announcement follows the recent reveal of Ryan Hurst as the lead character from the video game, it might offer clues about the storyline's potential focus.

In the video game God of War Ragnarok, Sif appears in a supporting capacity, but this prompt casting decision suggests that executive producer Ronald D. Moore could expand her presence in the series. Within the game's narrative, Sif serves as Odin's envoy prior to the Ragnarok events, later assuming leadership of the Aesir, one of the primary Norse deity clans. The production still lacks announcements for actors portraying Atreus, Thor, Odin, and several other mythological beings from the game. Nevertheless, the God of War series has been greenlit for a minimum of two seasons.
