The James Bond series has a well-established practice of enlisting prominent musicians for its theme tracks, including the iconic 'Live and Let Die.' This custom appears poised to influence video game versions of the spy saga as well. Developer IO Interactive revealed that Lana Del Rey collaborated on writing and singing the main song for 007 First Light, their interactive tale of the agent's early years.

The track 'First Light' features contributions from Lana Del Rey and composer David Arnold, aligning with the atmospheric and enigmatic intro sequence unveiled with the music. It subtly alludes to the narrative elements of the title. IO Interactive has described the project as centering on a novice, impulsive version of Bond in his youth, prior to adopting his signature sophistication. The team plans to incorporate refined stealth features honed in the Hitman series into this release.

Lana Del Rey's direct involvement with gaming might trace back primarily to her 2011 single 'Video Games,' inspired by an ex-partner's passion for World of Warcraft. Nonetheless, she has experience crafting material suitable for Bond. In 2024, the singer disclosed that '24' from her Honeymoon album was initially composed for the 2017 film Spectre, though it was ultimately overlooked in favor of Sam Smith's 'Writing's on the Wall.'

The title 007 First Light will launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting May 27, 2026. A port for the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for release this summer.
